Wash-hire Services are the Reconditioning services for restoring and guaranteeing the safety and effectiveness of the performances of re-usable devices such as textiles, mattresses and accessories hired to customers. The items owned by the Company hired to customers are flat linen (sheets, pillow cases, blankets, tablecloths), packed garments (gowns, uniforms for hospital staff, garments in general) and mattresses and pillows.
Servizi Italia guarantees to its customers that the linen hired are of the qualitative level required and deals with its routine maintenance and/or replacement if necessary. This service allows the customer to receive flat linen, packed garments, mattresses, pillows and anything else that may be necessary for carrying out activities inside hospital facilities (for example 188 emergency uniforms, shoes for employees and other accessories) in the amounts and of the quality deemed necessary for users.

The textile articles hired are:

•  customised: meaning the linen/garments that are part of the kit prepared by the Company destined to the customer are subsequently identified by means of bar codes or other technological systems that ensure their traceability and delivery to the ward and/or to the individual using them.
•  fungible: meaning standard linen/garments that are part of the so-called “historical kit” bearing the Servizi Italia logo and used to optimize purchases and maximize the use capacity of the plants available to Servizi Italia.

Reconditioning Services of the linen supplied for wash-hire are performed in laundries located in central-northern Italy and not far from the hospital facilities to which the services are provided.
All the laundries are organised according to the most modern management techniques to achieve plant efficiency and labour optimisation for continuous productivity improvement.

The plants are equipped with technologically advanced systems and regularly undergo controls and checks that ensure correct operation and conformity with the norms in force for the sector.

The Reconditioning Service is supplemented by warehouse management activities that are carried out by Servizi Italia employees in specific premises available in hospitals, several activities relating to the collection, delivery of linen/garments and respective storage in the points of use for preparing beds and hospital staff: the wards.
For this service, all activities are carried out by qualified staff who must carefully follow the instructions given as well as the approved procedures.
